WHAT WE DO

Health Education & Enlightenment Functions

To organize seminars/conferences/workshops on different topics related to mental illness in the community, workplaces, schools etc.

Collaborative and Networking Efforts

To collaborate with Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) in the provision of preventive care to the "psychid".

Advocacy Functions

To help the "psychids" that already have questionable personalities obtain a "clean bill of health" where appropriate.

Desensitization Programs

Equipping and exposing the "psychid" to situations that would cause stigmatization normally before they do.

Spiritual Dimension:

To minister to the psychid and helping them draw strength from God.

Educational Support

Scholarships/Grants/Funds will be offered to the psychids who are in need of it as a consequence of either of these:A)The crippling effect of parent(s) illness. B) The burden of care on the child. 3) Financial challenge that stem from managing the illness.

Social Function

The foundation will provide a forum for psychids to meet themselves,relate,share experiences,challenges,coping mechanisms e.t.c.

Rehabilitative Function

To help those with addictions come out of them.

About Us

The Psychid Foundation is a non-profit organization, the first of its kind in Africa that directly deals with the children of the mentally ill by helping them overcome their challenges and also, helping youths with mental illness overcome stigmatization. We believe it is easier to help the mentally ill when the burden of care on the children is reduced/eliminated.
